Cozy loghouse with kayaks & hot tub
Spacious, rustic and very cozy log house well situated in Grönemad just outside Grebbestad center in Bohuslän, West Sweden.
Here you can glide silently through the water in a kayak, camp on deserted beaches, enjoy the midnight sun early in the summer, spot seals and stargaze. During off-season you can go lobster fishing, eat oysters, walk by the sea, sit by the fire and enjoy the stargazer view in the outdoor hot tub a quiet cold night.
Frankly, this place is the perfect love nest.
Location
It´s 10 min walk to the sea (1 km) = a few minutes by bike. The house is quite private located in the area. Natural plot with lots of raspberry plants and outdoor hot tub. Grebbestad is famous for its delicious oysters. We also recommend you to try the shrimps, crayfish, crabs and lobster.
Shops, restaurants (Telegrafen is the best one), café, grocery stores, cinema, fish shop, liquor store (Systembolaget), etc. are open all year around in Grebbestad centre (1 km from the house).
If you like scuba diving there is a couple of dealers around Grebbestad. Look up ”Dyk-Leif” in Hamburgsund. A great place is Väderöarna (Weather Islands).
There are lots of things to see along the coast. Some nice places are Fjällbacka, Smögen, Vitlycke rock carvings – only 7 km from the house (UNESCO World Heritage), Väderöarna and Kosterhavet National Park (the park begins here). You can reach Oslo by train in about 4 hours, Stockholm in 5-6 hours and Göteborg in 2,5 hour. There are connections between Göteborg and Grebbestad that makes it quite easy to go here by train and bus.
It is nice to come here in the autumn to go on lobster safari with ”Everts Sjöbod”. In september Grebbestad celebrates ”Oyster Day”. The outdoor tub is best to use when it is cold outside.
The House
The house has three small bedrooms with five beds. The social areas are quit large. Glass doors leading out to a sunny patio with outdoor furnitures. Fireplace and guitar. On the mountain at the backside of the house there is a beautiful wood fired outdoor hot tub with a amazing stargazer view. Not so bad to sit there in the night, eating oysters and drinking something good. Fully equipped kitchen but no dish washer. We have Weber grills in two different sizes and a hammock to hang out on the patio. Four sun beds.
We have two kayaks you may use (Prijon Seyak and Aquilo K1 GF eXtreme) and two small wagons for walking the kayaks to the sea by foot (1 km). We have 4-5 bicycles of various sizes and conditions.
We seek an environmentally friendly way of living. You need to recycle and compost food left overs, paper, plastic etc in this house. The house is mostly built from recycled materials, which adds to its charm but also gives it a patina and makes it slightly rough and rustic. If you need to, you can borrow bed linens and towels from us. OBS! You need to do the cleaning by yourself before checking out. Renting this house is like lending a friends house.
